The Wild Lotus family are natives of the Yala area and have been guiding safaris in Yala for over 40 years. You will have exclusive use of our family's lovingly custom-renovated 1979 Land Rover for the duration of your safari. Your guide will be a highly experienced animal tracker who strictly follows responsible wildlife tourism practices.

Wild Lotus Half Day Safari
Timings: 5:15am- 10:15 am or 1:30/2pm(your choice)-sunset
Itinerary: Our safari jeeps will pick you up from the villa and arrive to the ticket center with a goal of entering the park at either 6 am or 2 pm. Leopards are most active at sunrise and sunset when it is cooler so we will look for this elusive creature at that time.
After a few hours, we’ll take a short break at Patanangalla
beach or Manik River. We will re-start our game drive after everyone had a break, hoping to spot elephants, crocodiles and other wildlife along the way.
Rates include: All entrance fees, game drive with an English speaking driver guide in our customized Land Rover safari jeep, use of binoculars and guide books.
Not included: tips for driver/guide
Optional: Add a packed meal from our kitchen for $6 per person

Wild Lotus Full Day Safari
Timing: 5:15 am-sunset
Itinerary: A full day safari is a real Sri Lankan adventure and not for the faint-hearted! Your jeep will venture deep into the jungle, giving you the best opportunity to see wildlife. These roads are very bumpy dirt tracks and going is rough-- giving you the best viewing and game drive experience.
From 12-2, a break for all jeeps is mandated by the Sri Lankan Wildlife Authority and we will take the opportunity to have a rest and eat lunch near the river or by the beach. A cooler with snacks and water is included in the rate.
